As for sin, we all are victims. We make mistakes. Sometimes, we strive to Allah, but at times, we shy away. Mindful of him at times and become heedless at other times. Man is never free from sin. From the words of the Holiest Prophet, we read: “All the sons of Adam make mistakes, but the best of those who make mistakes are those who frequently repent.” (Tirmidhi) Allah created us with this human nature, heedlessness and shortcomings is a part of it. But Allah is so merciful, He opened the gate of repentance for mankind, and enjoins us to turn to Him with obedience whenever and wherever. When lost, your only option is to await aid. You need to see the light of hope, but where exactly do you seek it? Beloved brothers and sisters! There is light for those who really want to see. It is loud and clear. It is only one way; it is the way of repentance. That is the way towards salvation and success. It is waiting for you. All you have to do is to approach it and you will find a rescue. When we read from the Holy Quran, Allah The Exalted said: But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance. (Quran 20:82) This is our call! From our creator! He calls us to repent, and He informed that He forgives all sins for those who repent, regardless of the extent and greatness of our sins. Allah said: Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (Quran 39:53) Now how should you seek this forgiveness from Allah? Do you want to return to Allah in repentance? Do you realize that happiness can’t be found in following your desires and lusts or sins? I asked myself these questions and I feel you might not know the way to repentance, how to start and how to endure it. Well, when Allah desires goodness for one of His slaves, He shows him the way to achieve it. Below is a proven way that Allah Almighty wants you to sincerely turn to him. more dua here! Alhamdulillah! Following the above steps means all your sins should be forgiven Insha-Allah. But how do you know that you are forgiven? What are the signs that will tell you that your repentance is accepted? Is that even necessary? You may ask. Yes, it is necessary. Seeking for forgiveness from Allah shouldn’t be taken lightly. We are all sinners, and without Allah’s forgiveness, there is no other way of escaping the punishment of our sins. Since you’re here, let’s continue with some of the signs that will tell you whether your repentance has been accepted or not. Becoming Better Becoming better than the condition you were in before your repentance means you are safe, Allah has accepted your repentance and has blessed you with goodness. Having the fear to return to the same sin No one should feel safe while he does not know the decree of Allah for him; fear should accompany you until you hear the angels say, as Allah Almighty says in the Quran: ... Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised.” (Quran: 41:30) Only then fear and worry would disappear. Feeling the weight of the sin even after repentance. Ibn Mas’ood said, “As a result of his sin, a believer feels as though he is sitting under a mountain which he fears will fall on his head. On the other hand, a sinner feels that his sins are just like a fly which landed on his nose and that he can simply drive it away by a simple move of his hand.” Feeling humbleness and humility in your heart before Allah. There is nothing dearer to Allah than seeing His slave humbling and humiliating himself with him, regretting and repenting, and continuously mentioning Him. Never Delay seeking for Forgiveness No one knows when he will die or how much is left from his time. It is sad to see some people delaying repentance by saying this is not the time for it yet, so let us enjoy our lives and when we become old we will repent. I recommend reading the story of this old man. It’s an advice for young Muslims. This thought is from Satan as he promises man while he has no power to grant man anything than the desires of this vanishing life. Beloved brothers and sisters! Rush to repentance and beware of delaying. Immediate repentance from sins is good for you, so repent before death. Repent before the time when regret will not benefit you. Repent my brother and sisters! Let’s repent before the darkness overwhelms our hearts and sins become a habit. We should all repent before we become sick and then die without getting the chance to do so. Repenting without committing any sin! Others will watch people succeed in life while in sins every day, so they think there is no need for repentance. Do not be deceived by the favors of Allah! Beloved brothers and sisters, it is true that people sin a lot and disobey, and they say there are many sinners who openly disobey Allah day and night, yet they are very prosperous and the favors upon them are abundant. Let’s listen to what our Blessed and Holiest Prophet said about such people: If you see that Allah Has bestowed favors upon someone although he is sinning, then know that it is a way of gradually punishing him.” He then recited the verse in which Allah said: ‘So, when they forget (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened for them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given all of a sudden, We took them (in punishment and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows. So the root of the people who did wrong was cut off. And all the praises and thanks are to Allah, the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (mankind, jinn, and all that exists).’ “Al-An’aam:44-45) (Ahmad) We as believers in Allah, His Messenger, His book, and the Day of Judgment, has more than enough reasons to repent to Him each day. How can you enjoy your wedding night when you've had series of pre-wedding nights? I’m talking about the Zani and the Zaniyah (fornicators). Don’t you think you should repent? She's not properly dressed! No hijab, no scarf, and no nothing. Instead of you preaching to her, you are shouting "wow, you look sexy! ..." Brother, you are part of the problem. As a girl, if you have to dress half naked before you can get people's attention, then I think you have nothing to offer besides sex, you can’t be a good wife to your future husband. Rasulullah (saw) said "if you know what I know, you'll laugh less and cry more "does that ring a bell to your ear? Do we have to see before we believe? I want to have money, I want to marry a beautiful wife, I want to buy a nice car, I want to build a big house, is that all we think about? We will all die and leave all these treasures. You think regret is when you did not marry the man/woman you wanted to marry, or did not study the course you liked? You are wrong! Regret is you descending into the grave without enough good deeds. Rich, poor, pretty, ugly, slim, fat, literate, illiterate, white, black, sheik, Sunni, Shia, player, King, slave, the list can still continue but DEATH does not care who you are, when it’s time, it’s really time and you must Go. “Subhanallah” Someone is dead and you are alive, someone is sick and you are healthy, someone is lost and you are guided, why then are you sad simply because someone is rich and you are poor? Why are you so ungrateful? Don’t you see the need for your repentance? O! Boy, see this car! See that house! See the girl man! My brother, the world is just a play and illusion, its beauty doesn't last, don't be carried away, seek Jannah instead. On the Day of Judgment people will be naked, but the fear of judgment will not allow you to look. Gather that fear now and stop asking, uploading or downloading nude pictures. Wrong use of Social media will take many to hell if they don't repent! I think you should now! You think Qiyamah is still far. The fact is that if you die today then your judgment has started just like that. Rasulullah (SAW), said a man is in hell because of a piece of cloth that doesn't belong to him, what about that $20 billion and public funds? Hey! Online fraudsters, what about that dollar ($$$) you snatched? There are more than enough reason everyone should repent. She wasn't your wife, you had Zina with her, she became pregnant, and you made her abort. If you don’t know, this is Zina in addition to murder? Top sinner! Yet you are reluctant about your repentance? Did I pass my exam? What's does your results say? Did you graduate with a 1st class? Wow! Those are the only things you care about? He memorized Qur'an. Do you? Hey! Guy how far! What's up, Bro! Charlie! What're all these? Are these the Islamic way of greetings? What's wrong with Asalaamu-Alaikum? Some men disrespecting their wives in front of their friends, what’s that? What are you trying to prove? You'll finish your runs and when it's time to marry you'll start searching for a good woman/man. Hey, my brothers and sisters, good women are for good men, if you marry a holy girl, what will the holy a man do? Allah is a just ruler. If you’re not ready you can postpone your wedding date, graduation date, election date, but you can never postpone your death date, always be ready! You feel depressed, instead of you to recite Qur'an or pray two rakaats of Salaat, you carry earpiece and be listening to immoral musicians. They need help too. Seek Allah alone for your relief. We are just striving and hoping for this world, we don't know our fate, yet we sleep all night. Rasulullah (SAW) was promised Jannah yet he stood at night for Salah till his feet got swollen.
