Surah al-Jumu’ah (Arabic: سورة الجمعة, “Friday”) is the 62nd chapter (sura) of the Quran with 11 verses. The chapter is named al-jumu`ah (“Friday”) because it is the day of the assembly when the community abandons trade, transactions and other diversions in favor of assembling to seek the all-encompassing truth and most beneficent and seek the “bounty of God” exclusively. This sura is an Al-Musabbihat sura because it begins with the glorification of Allah.
Benefits of reciting Surah al-Jumu’ah
Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) has said that if this surah is recited frequently in the mornings and evenings, the reciter is protected from the influence of Shaitan and his temptations. His sins are also forgiven.
In another narration, it is said that if a person recites this surah daily, he will be safe from every dangerous and frightening thing.
